Rain halts Kurunjang matches

09 Mar, 2010 09:35 AM
RAIN played havoc with the Kurunjang Park Tennis Club's round-robin Labour Day tournament at the weekend as just a dozen players managed to get on court.

Players took to the court in the early morning to start the round-robin matches in both juniors and seniors, but rain put paid to any further play on Saturday.

Tournament organisers kept the event open through the weekend, hoping a change in weather could allow play on Sunday or Monday.

Hard courts and mod-grass synthetic courts were used for the action, however, in the interests of safety players had to spend much of Saturday in the club house watching.
