THE Ultimate Fighting Championship bug swept through Melton last week when one of its Hall of Famers and four-time winner, Royce Gracie, put on a well-received mixed martial arts seminar at the Metamorphica Martial Arts centre.
Forty martial arts students attended the seminar last Tuesday evening.
Metamorphica director Heath Attard said the event "engaged everybody" and gave those present a "great lift".
"The experience you get with Royce is a very different one and he really made it easy for everyone regardless of what level they were at," Attard said.
"He was very gracious throughout the seminar and if you asked anyone what he was
like they would say he was amazing.
"This was a massive event not only for the martial arts community in Melton but for the entire community."
Gracie, from Brazil, was also one of 17,000 people to attend the UFC matches on show at Acer Arena in Sydney at the weekend.
