LAST-placed Romsey delivered a major blow to Bacchus Marsh's Central Highlands Bowls Association finals hopes after a five-shot win in division1 pennant at the weekend.
Romsey's 97-92 win failed to move it off the bottom of the table but left sixth-placed Bacchus Marsh looking at a 43-point gap to fourth-placed Kyneton Golf.
Kyneton Golf has 140 points from Gisborne (127) and Bacchus Marsh (93).
In Metro Bowls, Melton's second half of the season started with an 18-shot win against Williamstown 2.
The 14-85 to 4-67 result keeps Melton clear on top of division 3 section 1 with 198 points, ahead of Altona Sports on 163.
