Wayward kicking destroys Ballan

07 Sep, 2010 01:00 AM
BALLAN'S finals run in Central Highlands Football League under-18s was ended by Daylesford in a low-scoring slog at the weekend.

The Blues bowed out 1.10 (16) to 6.4 (40) at Learmonth Football Ground.

Ballan kicked its only goal of the match in the opening term, leading by 10 points to no score at quarter-time.

But four Daylesford goals in the second quarter swung the contest, with the conditions dictating a low-scoring game thereafter. Ashley Mullane was Ballan's only goal-kicker, while other better players were Daniel Neilsen and Matt Mullane.

Daylesford now plays Waubra in the under-18 grand final.

Ballan had finished fourth with a 15-win, three-loss record in the home and away season.
