WSUCCA: Rams in top four

24 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
TWO bursts of wickets put Rockbank into a safe top four position in A-grade synthetic as the Rams beat Williamstown Congs by 71 runs.

Defending 264, Rockbank's first spurt reduced the Congs from 0-65 to 3-78 early in the chase.

Williamstown recovered to reach 6-180 only for another burst of 4-13 which ended the innings at 193.

Russell Brown's 3-23 was best of the Rockbank bowling, while Michael Burns' 130 the previous week with the bat was the outstanding performance of the match.
