VSDCA: Melton in T20 'hat-trick'

20 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
MELTON improved its record to a perfect three wins from three in Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association Twenty20 when it defeated Broadmeadows last week.

The Falcons may have been forgiven for thinking that they were a fighting chance after holding Melton to 6-125 off the 20-over allocation at MacPherson Park.

Broadmeadows made it to 20 overs, too but could manage only 9-96 in reply.

Woodend will represent the Gisborne District Cricket Association at the Central Highlands Region Cricket Willow Twenty20 Cup after beating Sunbury United by 39 runs in the GDCA final last week.

Woodend posted 5-146 batting first and killed the contest by reducing United to 7-35 in reply.

Elliott Massina took 4-18 and was the best of the Woodend bowlers as Sunbury United was bowled out for 107.
