DARLEY suffered a middle-order wobble but ultimately got the points and climbed into the top six of first grade by beating Napoleons-Sebastopol at the weekend. Chasing 80 for victory, Darley fell to 6-74 before passing the target.
Napoleons-Sebastopol reached 2-68 off the final 27 overs to prevent any risk of being beaten outright.
Napoleons-Sebastopol (45) can still be caught in second by Mt Clear (42) or Darley (39), while Golden Point (36) has been pushed out of the top four.
Meanwhile, in the WDCA and WSUCCA, Melton Centrals was all out for 87 on day one of its A2 Turf match against Footscray ANA on Saturday.
Footscray reached 4-44 in reply at stumps.
In A grade synthetic, Rockbank was all out 221 in reply to St John's 8-280.
