Would-be MPs sought

21 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
MOORABOOL'S young people are being invited to apply to join the YMCA Youth Parliament of Victoria, now in its 26th year.

Last year a team of six Bacchus Marsh College student 'MPs' debated issues and introduced a bill for voluntary euthanasia.

More than 25 Youth Parliament bills have become law in Victoria, including bills enacting drug testing for drivers, increased de facto rights for same-sex couples, and over-the-counter access to the morning-after pill.

Applications close March 30.

The Youth Parliament will sit from July 2-5 and is open to people aged 16-25.
