07 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
POLICE are investigating a violent assault on an 18-year-old woman in Brookfield.

She was walking along a footpath in a reserve in Clarks Road, Brookfield, about 11.20pm on February 1 when she was attacked from behind.

A man threw her to the ground then punched and kneed her.

Melton Detective Senior Sergeant Barry Jenks said she suffered bruising and scratches.

He said police were looking for a Caucasian aged about 30, who was wearing a dark hooded jumper. He was of slim build and was missing teeth.
