PARAMEDICS say they are amazed that only three people were injured in a 15-car crash at Melton South last Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the Western Freeway near Ferris Road following the crash about 6pm.
Paramedic Tina Henley said they found cars and debris strewn on the highway.
"The majority of cars collided nose-to-tail with cars and wreckage stretching almost a kilometre along the road," she said.
Three people received minor neck and back injuries. Two were taken to Sunshine Hospital and the other to the Western Hospital in Footscray.
The incident occurred during wet weather.
Meanwhile, Melton's SES unit responded to calls for assistance after a storm hit the area last Thursday afternoon.
There were three calls for flooding and three for damage to buildings.
