JAN Finney will work for 50 hours to lovingly craft a sea scene sculpture made of apoxie sculpt putty.
But the 30-centimetre piece is not being created for her own collection; it will be up for grabs at Coimadai Primary School's art show on October 23. Proceeds will be donated to the school.
A Long Forest resident for 22 years, Ms Finney, 67, also teaches religious education at the school and will display other works at the show.
Co-ordinated by Long Forest resident Tonia Dudzik, the arts fund-raiser is an initiative of the school's parents club.
Ms Dudzik said parents hoped to raise $1000 for the school.
"We have six artists on board and we are hoping to get about 15 more," she said.
"All family-friendly art, including painting, sculpture, pottery, metalwork and patchwork, is welcome."
The show will also feature Mad Mags the clown, a sausage sizzle and children's art activities. "It's a great day for families to enjoy and to support their local school."
The art show is at the school at 86 Bennetts Lane, Coimadai, from 10am-4pm on October 23.
