YOUNG readers like Brisa, 11 (pictured with children's author Archie Fusillo), flocked to Caroline Springs library on February 14 for the Melton launch of the National Year of Reading.
Special guest Mr Fusillo chatted with youngsters about their favourite stories.
Activities will take place across the shire as part of the year-long program, including author talks, a moonlight story-telling session and a fun reading day.
The National Year of Reading is designed to encourage children to read and inspire keen readers to continue learning.
