MOVE over Tim Burton and Steven Spielberg - the next big movie-makers in Hollywood could be from Melton Specialist School. Students got to watch themselves on the big screen at Reading Cinemas in Melton on Sunday at the finale of ArtBeat. As part of the festival, touring education program InTheBin visited the school to show children, including Serina, pictured, how to get behind the video camera to express themselves. The 15- to 18-year-olds made their own scripts, costumes and sets as well as acting and shooting the scenes. VCAL co-ordinator Margaret Maher said students took responsibility for their own movies, working in crews to transfer their vision into short films. "It improved their inter-personal skills, as well as letting them express themselves. We have one girl who is very shy, but she ended up starring in one of the films."
