Doug hopes his macaw will return for love

FLY away Tango, fly away Inca, come back Tango ... but where is Inca?

That's is the question Doug Spencer is asking, after his two prized macaws flew away.

He was recently moving from his house in Melton when the temporary cage transporting the birds broke and, to his dismay, the rainbow pair flew into the sky.

A few days later a sighting by a resident meant Mr Spencer was able to coax Tango into his grasp. But Inca is still missing, alone in the wild without his companion or necessary specialty food or shelter.

"He could be a thousand miles away. But there is a good chance he's in the trees along the creek."

Mr Spencer has had birds since he was a child, but says the macaws are the "ultimate".

"They are a beautiful bird, and relatively rare."

He had hoped the loving couple would finally mate this year.

He has offered a $2000 reward for the safe return of the bird, which he paid $10,000 for several years ago. Now living in Pentland Hills, Mr Spencer is hoping someone will spot Inca and contact him on 0418551199. Alternatively, call Wildlife Victoria on 1300094535.
