 A walk to remember

A walk to remember

17 Jan, 2012 12:00 AM
MELTON'S Tabcorp Park team, including Ben Laurie and Raelene Day (pictured with Mary Carroll, right) is ready to walk all night to honour lives lost to cancer.

Melton Relay For Life committee member Ms Carroll invited residents to register for the February 25 event at the paceway, where teams of 10 or more keep a baton moving through the night.

Organisers hope it will be Melton's biggest fundraising event and say it's a chance to bring the community together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember lost loved ones and fight back against the disease.

Almost 270 Melton residents are diagnosed with cancer each year.

The event starts 4pm on February 25 and finishes 10am the next day.
